Thoughts on the NC District 11 Primary

As my readers know, I supported (and still do) Dr. Dan Eichenbaum in the NC District 11 Primary. The election was close. So close, in fact, that the final results will depend on the provisional ballots and a recount. Those results are expected on May 11.

There are reports of voter irregularities. I am registered "unaffiliated". I had no problems voting in the primary; although there are reports that some unaffiliated voters were turned away at some locations. This remains to be verified. ACORN tactics in rural North Carolina! Disgusting if true.

Voter turnout in this weeks election was low. The vote is very close to a run-off between Dr. Eichenbaum and the tentative winner, Jeff Miller. Within the next week we will learn whether or not there will be a run-off election next month.

I did what I could to get friends, co-workers, and neighbors to learn about Dr. Dan and his principled approach to leadership. By having guiding principles in place, Dan has a firm foundation to base decisions on in Washington. What an idea. Principles. . .in Washington.

Dr. Eichenbaum ran a totally grass roots campaign. Miller was hand picked and backed by the NCGOP. Dr. Eichenbaum would go to Washington owing no favors to anyone other than the voters in this district. There is no way of knowing what strings are attached to Miller. Just because he belongs to the minority party does not mean he will be a good representative for We the People of Western North Carolina. Hand picked and groomed, Miller will be a puppet of those in charge and will do their bidding. The people be damned. Nothing will change.

Those who worked to elect Dr. Dan Eichenbaum did their best. I feel I did very little, there are those who worked from daylight to dusk, day after day for the cause. Those people have my gratitude; they took up my slack.

Now, these Patriots in Western North Carolina are depressed and tired. We all feel a sense of fear at what will happen now. But we will dust ourselves off and get back in the fight to save our nation and restore Her to what the Founding Father's envisioned Her to be.

We've may have had a set-back. Maybe not. Only the God's know at this point. However, one set-back will not lessen our determination to take our country back from the Progressives and anyone else desiring to fundamentally change America into something She is not meant to be. And we have God and the Spirit's of our Founding Father's on our side. We will prevail.

  1. Conservatives who care about this country aren't paying enough attention to the primaries. Some don't understand how rotten the GOP establishment is. Others are so disgusted with both parties, they think third party options are the answer. Both of those groups fail to appreciate the difference they could make if they'd get more involved.

We all have to push harder.

  2. Many people do not understand how the primary process has been the "grand illusion". For years whoever the party's (Dem or Rep) selected as "their" candidate. This candidate could receive all the resources (political power structure, funding, etc...) of the parties. This, combined with the traditional apathy of voters in the primaries, made it very simple for the party's selection to win the primary. The unknowing public then goes to the General election to vote for the "people's choice". Once again we don't get to dip our fingers in ink like in Iraq. Instead the 2 party's happily stamp our foreheads with a virtual "SUCKER" imprint.

I have no way of knowing what is in Jeff Miller's heart. After hearing him speak a few times he seems to be a decent and sincere person. We don't need a decent and sincere person now. We need a "take us back to our roots" patriot. Many of the liberals are with the best of intention decent and sincere. The current situation of our political parties is not decent and sincere and the people who reside in that liberal world cannot confront this broken political system.

I would like to know where Jeff Miller stands on the core values that the Tea party and 912 project stress. If those core values and commitment are not there then from my perspective he could just as easily run as a Democrat. With no core values party affiliation is just a matter of convenience.

I am very disheartened that Dan did not win this primary election and that our voices and efforts did not carry the day. In every debate he won hands down. The harsh reality is we did not carry the day.

I'm asking Jeff Miller to talk with us, Dan supporters and proponents of changing the direction our country is and has taken under Democrats and Republicans. Show us you share our vision for America regaining it's greatness, stopping our slide into socialism and obscurity.

There is much work to be done. Our founding fathers shaped our country under the threat of death surely we can find a few men and women still left who will buck the party's. That can not only be “decent and sincere” but courageous and patriotic as well.
