Shell Shocked

I've been living and working in a fog since Black Sunday. I haven't even wanted to write a post because I couldn't find a way to describe my feelings.

This morning I stumbled across an article in American Thinker by Robin of Berkeley that puts into words how I feel and pretty much describes why I'm feeling this way:

"That's what it is:  stunned, shell shocked, traumatized."

Many years ago, it now seems like a life-time, I was married to a man who beat me. Whenever things did not go his way; I became his personal punching bag. After a severe beating I would walk around for days feeling stunned, abandoned, alone, confused, and traumatized. I feel that way now.

Robin of Berkeley was mugged. She also draws a comparison to being mugged to the passage of Obamacare:

When I see what Obama is doing to this country, how he is treating its citizens, I'm reminded of the man who mugged me.  I think that both are constitutionally incapable of seeing our humanity.  And each day that Obama is in office, he communicates this same deadly message to the masses -- that opponents are not human.

This would explain the burgeoning of hate and even violence towards those who deign to disagree.   And why Tea Party members and conservatives are being targeted, as well as entire countries like Israel.

And this would illuminate why Obama is unfazed while the economy crashes.  And why he cavalierly demonizes Israel, putting millions of Israelis at risk.  And it explains why Obama mocks conservatives who are legitimately worried about this administration's violating fundamental rights.

After years of abuse; I escaped my abuser. I pray heart and soul that we as a nation can escape our abuser in 2012. If he follows the pattern of most abusive individuals, we are in for much worse than we've endured so far.

A Battle is Not a War

Last night Obama's horrible healthcare reform bill passed.

Today we are wounded to the core. We are sore and weary. We are in tears over that which was lost. We are angry and frustrated.

Yes we lost a battle, a big battle. We had fought long and hard, but remember my friends; a battle is not a war.

George Washington lost battle after battle until he crossed the Potomac. Many times it seemed certain that the war for freedom would be lost. He didn't give up, even when his troops deserted and the Continental Congress failed to provide him with supplies. He stayed the course with grim determination. Against all odds, finally, he won our freedom.

We have accomplished much during this last year. We have broken the super majority in the Senate by electing Scott Brown. We caused the healthcare bill deadlines to be moved back again and again. We are a force to reckon with.

Now is the time to regroup, heal our wounds, and march again. There are more battles ahead. We may lose a few, but we will win some too. We, like Washington, will not give up. We will fight onward until we win the biggest prize.

We will win this war and take our country back.

Stupak: the Sanctity of Life is Important to Us, Which is Why We Will Slash Care for Old People and Further Enslave Children to Massive Deficits

This is a good article about the Stupak sell-out on health care. He is up for election. Support his opponent with your voice and checkbook.

Stupak: the Sanctity of Life is Important to Us, Which is Why We Will Slash Care for Old People and Further Enslave Children to Massive Deficits

Today’s the Day

Today is the day we have been dreading. Sometime this afternoon or tonight the House will vote on Obama's health care reform bill. We can keep calling and protesting, and we should. But we should also be on our knees praying.

We should be letting the Creator who stood with George Washington and the brave revolutionary soldiers hear our voices. We should call out to Him for aid in once again saving our country and way of life. He is the only one who can lay His hand on the hearts of our legislators and overcome the corruption and group-think of Pelosi and Associates.

I'll be praying a lot today. Won't you join me?

Washington Protest Today

My heartfelt prayers and wishes go out to all the patriots who made it to Washington today to let their voices be heard against the government takeover of our health care system.

While I couldn't go, I am with you all in spirit.

Dictatorship

When the President and his Henchmen in Congress blatantly ignore the Constitution and pass laws the People DO NOT WANT by use of an unconstitutional method of voting on a law by voting on something else. . .

We no longer have a free republic. We have the beginnings of a dictatorship.

Obama is ruling by use of unconstitutional methods. I fear he will issue an executive order postponing the 2010 or 2012 elections. Other baby dictators have used election delaying tactics to entrench themselves before outlawing elections entirely. Do you think he is going to be any different? Or, since he and Congress are in effect putting a law equal to a Constitutional Amendment in as law of the land; could they not use the same procedure to change more of the Constitution?

There are marches and protests scheduled for tomorrow. If you can, attend them. Keep calling, emailing, and showing up at congressional offices. Keep praying.

Midnight Ramblings of a Crazed Conservative

There are times I want to shout out to the "Representatives" in Washington, "What are you doing?" I want to go grasp them by the nap of the neck and give them a good shake. I want to turn them over my lap and spank them (yes, I know a few of the devils would enjoy that, but…).

Never in my life-time have I seen such a travesty as the one playing out this week in the capitol. What acts of desperation will they end up performing in order to get passage of Obama's health care bill? Ha, Obama's bill, heck, he doesn't even know what's in it. At least that's how I understood him on his Fox interview tonight. In reality, nobody knows what's in it.

Sure, we know what's in the Senate bill. That's what is causing all the uproar and dirty politics taking place right now. We know what's in it, and many representatives won't vote for the bill as it stands. But, they don't have a super majority in the Senate anymore, thanks to Scott Brown. So they can't go to conference on the two bills, make a new bill and get it passed. The result is the fiasco currently taking place.

Pelosi has to get something passed by hook or crook. And believe me, there is a whole lot of crooked going on in Washington.

In my opinion, what they are attempting to do in congress is unconstitutional. If they succeed our freedoms are out the window and gone. If they succeed unchallenged the precedent will be set for more and more legislation to be passed against the will of the people.

Nancy Pelosi is struggling with the lock of Pandora's Box. Lets pray she doesn't figure out how to open it.

Article 1 Section 7

Article I: Section 7:

Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by Yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their Adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law. (Emphasis mine)

What part of this does Nancy Pelosi not understand?

Crooks and Liars

I am amazed at the depths to which the crooks and liars in Washington will sink to in order to pass the health care legislation We the People do not want.

Now they are devising a way to vote it through without actually voting on it. What? How can you possible vote on something without voting on it? Or, do they really think we are THAT STUPID?

Rest assured, you power hungry, Obama butt kissing democrats, we are NOT that stupid. We will remember what you are doing and will happily vote you out of office in November.

Torches and Pitchforks, My Friends

The title to this post is from a commenter on Legal Insurrection. Please hop over and read his moving piece, Some of Our Finest Hours. Kudos to Dr. Jacobson for a post that sums up so beautifully how many of us are feeling as Obama, Pelosi, and Reid put the final touches on their takeover of our economy and our lives.

Dr. Jacobson, we will fight to the end with our calls, emails and faxes. We will pray. Divine Intervention has played a mighty roll in this nation's history. It can happen again. We will fight some more at the ballot box. We will prevail.

I was always told, "The Lord helps those who help themselves." So, I'm putting a new handle in that old pitchfork out in the shed. I'm fueling up the torches.

I will not roll over and play dead to the likes of Obama, Pelosi and Reid; power hunger liberals who care only for their misguided dreams of social justice and the nanny state. And POWER. It is all about power to the ruling class, not our well being. Never forget that.

Get out the torches and pitchforks. Gather up some tar and feathers, too. We have work to do.

Revolution Video

Some images many be disturbing to some people, if you are one of them, sorry. Anyway, I like this and wanted to share.

Dr. Dan Eichenbaum Candidate for NC District 11

For some time now I have been investigating the candidates for our congressional district, NC 11th. The field of candidates for the Republican primary is huge. Whoever wins the primary will run against incumbent Heath Schuler, a Democrat.

Schuler has broken contact with the people of North Carolina. A self-proclaimed "Blue Dog" Democrat, his actions are anything but conservative. Like so many other democratic congressmen, he has refused to hold town hall meetings, and does not reply to our calls, emails, faxes, or letters. Instead of Blue Dog we in Western North Carolina now refer to Schuler as Nancy Pelosi's "Lap Dog".

Upon considering the candidates who filed for the Republican primary, I came away with the impression that most were RINO's, and one simply does not know what he is doing and that all would immediately fold to the pressures in Washington.

Only one seemed to address the concerns I and my friends and neighbors have about what is happening to our country. Only one seemed to have a plan and solutions that were different. That man is Dr. Dan Eichenbaum.

I attended a town hall meeting yesterday at which Dr. Eichenbaum spoke about the problems we face. He spoke about solutions to these problems and admitted they would be painful. He has studied the issues and has a plan for getting our country back on track and restoring our Constitutional rights. During the question and answer period, Dr. Eichenbaum gave honest, straight foreword answers. He looked us in the eyes.

I had the opportunity to talk with Dr. Eichenbaum one-on-one before the meeting started. He was gracious and kind to both my husband and me. He answered our questions honestly. He is a man I can support. He is a candidate I can endorse.

You can learn more about Dr. Dan Eichenbaum here. His campaign is truly grass-roots. There is no heaping war chest of cash such as Heath Schuler has at his disposal. He needs donations and feet on the ground. He needs you, no matter where you live. We must replace the incumbents' in Washington. Here in the NC 11th District, I believe Dr. Eichenbaum is the right man for the job.

Handicapped Accommodations Abused

As caregiver for my handicapped husband, abuse of facilities for the handicapped by able-bodied individuals is a pet-peeve of mine. That being said, I offer these examples. What do you think?
The citizen who took this picture of a police car parked in a handicapped parking space thought maybe the officer had responded to an emergency. He found the officer inside, eating lunch. See the report in the Hendersonville Times-News.

Another pet peeve of mine is handicapped stalls in public restrooms being used as a catch-all for cleaning supplies or other items. Can you imagine the difficulty a wheelchair bound person would have using this restroom?

Another Attack on the Constitution

I write a little blog that protests the way our government officials are doing business in Washington and, on occasion, locally. Other than that I'm an average American: I get up each day, go to work, clean my house, take care of my family. . . but one of these days I could be arrested and thrown under the jail. Why? Because someone in the government I'm protesting decided I was a "threat".

Far fetched? Nope. Not if the “Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010" passes. The bill in pdf form is here.

An article about the bill is here, that goes into more detail. But if passed it would enable our government to toss search and seizure rights out the window and come after dissenting bloggers, Tea Party activists, protesters, even your loud-mouthed neighbor down the street.

Who sponsored this? Senators John McCain and Joseph Lieberman. Hmmm.

Check it out. I need more coffee and a couple of aspirin.

Down to the Wire

We are racing towards the finish line with Obamacare. The Great One wants it passed by Easter break. Under no circumstances does he want senators and congressmen to go home to their districts and face the "angry mobs" with the bill un-passed.

If that should happen, one or maybe more might listen to us and decide political suicide is not an option they want to face.

I'm still emailing my senator and congressman. I'm still getting a form letter (Hagan) or no reply at all (Shuler) for my efforts. However, I'm sure some intern is reading our emails and counting the yeas and nays. I haven't tried calling their offices recently... I stopped after it became apparent that all calls were being directed to a full voice mailbox... a not so cute method of ignoring us, but it works.

I have been reading history books (not the biased ones they are using in our schools) and the Constitution during each and every free moment I can find. The more I learn about what the Founder's envisioned for our country and see how far off-track it has been driven; the angrier I become. We are so far left of what the Founder's meant for the United States to be that they would not recognise it.

We have almost lost our republic. I think more and more people are beginning to understand this on some level. I just hope we aren't too late.

Once again, I beg you, call, fax, email, or write a letter to your representatives. Tell them how you feel about this government takeover of our healthcare system. Keep up the pressure.

Let them know that they will be held accountable if they follow Obama's lead and pass the healthcare bill. Let them know that from this point forward they are being watched and watched closely. Let them know that the days of unchecked abuse of power are over.

We are and will continue watching them. We will exercise our right to vote and they will be the next Americans standing in line at the unemployment office

Dr. Dan Eichenbaum: GOP Candidate for NC District 11

Dr. Dan Eichenbaum delivered this closing speech to conclude the Transylvania County GOP Candidate Forum held on February 20, 2010. A straw poll was conducted following the Forum, with Dr. Dan earning a landslide victory. Dr. Dan received 36 votes and the nearest competitor received 7.

Just One of the Reasons I Don't Watch MSNBC

They Won’t Give Up

I've been surfing around this morning catching up on news and commentary. It seems like the president and his henchmen are bound and determined to shove government run health care down our throats. This article for instance:

Democratic congressional leaders hope President Barack Obama's unveiling of his final health care package Wednesday will help resuscitate an effort that seemed all but dead until recently… (snip)…
Now, Democrats are aiming toward a two-step approach. The House would approve a sweeping Senate-passed overhaul bill, then both chambers would make changes in it — like making subsidies more generous — by passing a separate measure.
Democrats would use a fast-track process — called reconciliation — for that second bill that would let them approve it with only a majority of Senate votes. Republicans say that process should not be used for such major legislation and accuse Democrats of subverting the rules, but White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel defended it Tuesday after meeting with top Democrats, calling it "a normal procedure."

What part of "no" don't they understand? We the People have told them over and over that we do not want their program.

I'm sure that the Founding Fathers are standing as close to the pearly gate as possible, shouting, yelling and waving their arms at us to wake up and stop this fiasco and the many other efforts to snatch our country and freedom out from under us.

Whether you like Glenn Beck or not, listen to him and learn what the Founders had in mind when they wrote our Constitution. It wasn't a nanny state, where everything goes to the government only to be doled out to us in tiny bits in return.

No, it was for us to have the freedom to work and work hard to accomplish great things in our individual lives….or to choose not to work hard and live at poverty level if that's all we aspired to! That's what we were given, and it looks like we aren't going to be able to keep it after all.

Every adult and child in this country should grap hold of a good American History book and a copy of the Constitution and the Federalist Papers. Read what those men were thinking and how they envisioned this nation. This, my friends, is not what they saw as our future.

It will require hard work, hardship, and sacrifice to turn our nation back to what She is meant to be. Look at the hardships and turmoil faced by our founders and those brave colonists who said, "We have had enough!" and fought for their freedom. Are we less able to do so than they? Or, are we so spoiled by the nanny state that we no longer have the will to stand up for what is right?

Al Gore Surfaces – Cancel the Amber Alert

Well, well. Al Gore has resurfaced to let us know that all this snow really is due to global warming. Read his article here.

If you buy his explanation, I have a nice bridge to sell up in New York…..

Fed Up – Yes I Know I’m Rambling…

I'm getting depressed over this entire health care thing. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid are going to do their best to force it down our throats by reconciliation. They may succeed in doing so. We have to face that fact.

My worry is what will happen next? Will the American people roll over and play dead? Will we just wring our hands and weep over the fact that "they" didn't listen to us? Will we buckle down and try to work harder and more hours just to pay the increased taxes this terrible bill will lay on our shoulders? What will we do?

The hours and minutes are ticking onward toward the death of the United States as we know it.

The cult following that elected Barack Obama president has doomed us to life in a carbon copy of European nations or a second revolutionary war to save our nation. Which will it be? I have no idea. Are we still cut from the same cloth as the Founders? I hope and pray we are.

The good thing about the health care bill is that it doesn't take effect immediately (the taxes do, however). There is a chance we can overturn the democratic majority at the ballot box this November with representatives pledged to repeal the health care bill. Maybe they will even call for investigations into the backroom deals made by Pelosi and Reid. Maybe they will vote to impeach Barack Obama. Ahh, but that is the stuff of Patriot dreams.

I'm going to keep up the fight by calling and emailing my representatives, even though I know they aren't listening and don't care what I think or want. Never in my life have I felt so helpless at the hands of my leaders. Never!

I am sickened and fed up with our leaders and their godlike assumptions that they know what's better for me than I do. What about you? What do you think? Are you fed up too?
