Disappointment and Fear

I was shocked and angered at Scott Brown's cave-in to the democrats in voting to close arguments on the "jobs bill". Here in North Carolina, far away from Massachusetts, I supported him wholeheartedly. I felt that his victory was a sign from above that we could replace the leftist radicals in our government with something saner and more in line with the values that made our country the greatest in the world.

Like many of his Massachusetts supporters I now wonder if he will fall into lock-step with Reid and Pelosi on the healthcare debacle as well. Scott Brown was elected to stop the spending. He apparently has forgotten that in barely one month's time. It is too disappointing for words.

Looking ahead to the election's this fall, I wonder how many other candidates who are running on the platform the People want; less spending, smaller government and better defense, to name a few; will win based on their campaign and then do an about-face once in office.

Obama is preparing to make a last ditch effort to pass his healthcare bill. This one is a remake of the House and Senate bills already thoroughly rejected by We the People. His "summit" with Republican's is a sham, a photo-op and that's all. We know it and the Republican's who will attend know it. The bill that will be brought before the Senate and passed using the "nuclear-option" will be void of opposition input.

The People of the United States don't want what Obama and his cronies are selling. We are going to be forced into it however, because Obama believes he knows what is better for us than we do. Our health-care system, which is the envy of the world, is going to be destroyed from the ground up. Older American's are going to die by the millions from rationing of care. Younger people are going to see their taxes go so high that they can't survive.

This is not what the people who voted for Obama wanted when they listened to his message of "hope and change". Obama "hoped" he could get elected so he could "change" America into something none of us could recognize.

The Scott Brown vote shows us that we must be very clear to those we elect into office what we expect from them when they get there. We are all doing everything in our power to vote out the current people who seem hell-bent to destroy our country. The ones we send in their stead had better beware of the anger of the People.

Disappointment is one thing. Anger and Fear are the makings of something bigger than an election.

It's going to be a busy day, so I'll give you the opportunity to let me know what you are thinking about.

I've Heard Enough About Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods came on television to "apologize" to everyone, and now has gone back to rehab for his "sex addiction".

For two days straight the news shows, opinion shows and blogs have been packed with speculation about what Tiger would say and how he would say it; and after the speech a careful analysis of what he did or didn't say.

I've had enough. The man's a great golfer, a great golfer and a lousy husband. To use the vernacular of the South where I grew up, he is a whore-hopper, plain and simple.

Tiger Woods is not an elected official, nor an appointee to a high office. He is no more than a talented golfer who is rich and cheats on his wife. Why then does he deserve this around the clock, network to network coverage? Is there nothing more important to spare some coverage for?

Surely there are some other, albeit minor, topics of interest. The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for instance. Perhaps the renewed push for the dreaded healthcare bill to be shoved down our throats. How about all the corruption running rampant throughout our government?

Nope, all that has been important lately is a cheating husband, trying to redeem his career and marriage after getting caught. Well, enough already. I've heard enough about Tiger Woods to last a lifetime.

Thoughts on Joseph Stack

Yesterday we all watched in shock as news reports came in about the one-man attack on the IRS offices in Austin, Texas by Joseph Stack. As fighter planes scrambled and the building burned, first thoughts were whether or not this was a terrorist attack with more to follow, an accident, or a planned act of violence.

When news of Stack's multi-page manifesto and its wild ramblings and rants against "big brother" and others, it became apparent that this was indeed a planned attack on a specified target.

After all the investigations are finished, we will learn that Stack was plagued by financial set-backs, employment difficulties, and other woes that helped him reach the point of ending his own life, and going out in a big way.

How many more like Joseph Stack are among us? How many have been pushed by the current economic climate to the point of considering acts of desperation?

No doubt, with the previous thought in mind, our all-knowing legislators will soon decide on new laws and regulations intended to sooth the public fears and gain a bit more control. This knee-jerk reaction should be tempered by the knowledge that people who have lost all hope act out of desperation.

The leaders of our country, spurred on by the progressives, are taking more and more of our liberties and rights away. As our country sinks into a bottomless pit of debt while taxes grow overwhelming and opportunities shrink, more people are becoming desperate.

Suicide rates are bound to increase, as they did during The Great Depression. Only now, more among us may decide to go out like Joseph Stack.

The AGW Smoking Gun

This article in American Thinker, The AGW Smoking Gun, shows scientific evidence that global warming science is not "settled". In fact, when you take time to wade through the data, it appears that the theory of global warming has actual, hard data which implies it to be false.

I don't know about you, but it is getting harder and harder for me to believe any scientist or researcher anymore; no matter what their area of "expertise".
